SCHOOL AND NURSERIES
We write our material with the EYFS and 7 areas of learning close to hand.
Below is a guide to how drama can cover all 7 areas of learning:

Communication and language development
Drama is a brilliant way to develop communication and language with verbal and non-verbal children. When involved in imaginary settings where speaking is a bi-product and not the focus children often make the most progress.
Physical development
Theatre Tots use a range of action songs to ensure a physical focus in the sessions. The stories all involve movement and there is attention on healthy lifestyle and healthy food choices.
Literacy development
Theatre Tots explores literacy development with our story publications. Children are able to buy the resources to read and explore at home.
7 areas of Learning and Drama
Mathematics
Involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems, and to describe shapes, spaces and measures.
Theatre Tots reinforces numbers and counting in our stories and warm up games.
Understanding the world
Theatre Tots exercises and stories largely focus on everyday objects, environments and situations. Being allowed to explore these in an imaginative way is a positive way to make sense of the world around them.
Personal, social and emotional development
Theatre Tots sessions provide an opportunity for social interaction with children of the same or similar age. We promote positive social skills and manners including sharing, listening, respect and turn taking. Theatre Tots stories give an opportunity to discuss
emotions and the different ways we feel.
Expressive arts and design
Theatre Tots uses music, movement, dance, role play and at times arts and crafts.
